We Don't Promise, We Prove: What This Means in Practice
If an agency guarantees a Google ranking, run. Why proof matters, not promises — G2A's approach.
We Don't Promise, We Prove: What This Means in Practice
"We guarantee the #1 spot on Google!" — if you hear this from a marketing agency, the best thing you can do is politely say goodbye and run. In this article, we explain why — and what a proof-based approach means instead, one that defines everything G2A does.
Why a Google ranking can't be guaranteed
No one can guarantee a specific Google ranking. Not because they're not good enough, but because Google's ranking depends on hundreds of factors, most of which Google doesn't even disclose, and which keep changing constantly. On top of that, your competitors are working too — ranking is a moving target that no one owns.
Anyone who still promises a guarantee is one of two things: either they don't understand how search engine optimization works, or they do understand, and they're chasing your money with a promise they can't keep. Neither is the kind of partner you'd trust with a serious business.
Promises are cheap — proof is expensive
Promises are tempting because they're cheap: anyone can say anything in a sales conversation. "We'll double your traffic," "guaranteed results," "top ranking" — these sentences cost the person saying them absolutely nothing. Proof, on the other hand, is expensive: it requires showing real clients, real results, long-term working relationships.
That's why proof is a better filter than promise. An agency's promises reveal nothing about its capabilities. Its references, its retained clients, and its measurable results reveal everything.
What proof means at our company
When we say "we don't promise, we prove," we mean specific numbers. 23+ active partners. 8+ industries. A 4.2x average ROAS. And the one we're proudest of: an 18+ month average client relationship. That last number is the most telling one, because it can't be faked or promised — it's what happens when a client stays for years because it's worth it to them.
In practice, proof-based operation means every client gets a dashboard where the real numbers are visible — the good and the bad alike. In the first month, we establish the baseline, and from then on, growth is visible month by month. Or its absence — and then we make changes. No hidden data, no polished-up reports.
What to ask an agency instead of a guarantee
When you're choosing an agency, don't ask what they guarantee. Ask instead: "How long do your clients stay with you on average?" That number tells you everything. Ask: "Show me a case where something didn't work, and what you did about it." An honest answer is worth more than ten success stories. And ask: "How will I actually see the real numbers?" If you get an evasive answer, that's an answer in itself.
